WADE WEDDING

Chris and Holly were married Saturday. It was beautiful!

Kalyn was absolutely gorgeous! I have never seen a more beautiful flower girl.

Here we all are-- our family.

Kalyn is striking a pose for the camera. She never tires of having her picture taken.

The ever-so-handsome groom and most beautiful bride
This pic is of Kalyn's 1st grade class at awards' day. She received an award for all "A"'s. We are so proud of her. She is so smart! It's hard to believe we have a 2nd grader. I could cry just thinking about it.

The most amazing man

I am married to the most amazing man. Yesterday, he let me and Kalyn take a nap while he cleaned up the kitchen, loaded the dishwasher, finished a load of laundry, and researched an outdoor concert event that I am wanting to attend, JFest. I don't tell him enough how lucky and blessed I am that he chose me. At the time he first asked me out, I was definitely not looking for anyone. But, yet, he chose me from a number of candidates. He sought me out and threw on the charm and I have been hooked ever since. Some of you may remember this story----it was our second date. We had been to a Viking basketball game and then went to the ever popular J.B.'s afterward. I didn't realize that anyone knew we had gone out, but as we walked into that restaurant, the atmosphere was like we had been together for years. Chairs parted almost instantly for us to have room to sit with Jr & Kim, Bob & Dottie, and others. Steven has said that maybe everyone saw "it" in us, or maybe they were just waiting also. Who knows? But I do know that my life would not be complete without him.

KALYN AND POPPAW

Here is Kalyn and her Poppaw, my dad, at Cracker Barrel for Mother's Day. While Poppaw is studying his next move, Kalyn is giggling uncontrollably. She had the last laugh because she beat him, fair and square. I am almost positive there will be a rematch.

AR FUN DAY

AR Fun Day was Friday at school. Even though the weather was cold! the kids still had a blast. There were several inflatables for them to enjoy, and snowcones. I can't believe those kids were eating snowcones like crazy in such cold weather. They didn't mind the wind or drizzle of rain. They kept right on playing!

Another step

Well, what do you know? Big Brown won another race, The Preakness. He only has one more race to go to be the top dog, the numero uno, the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years. Can he do it? Steven seems to think he can. I know 1 thing. It will be awesome if he does win. Little ole us will have made a part of history. It will be great for Kalyn to be able to tell her children the story of picking him to win the Derby and me talking her out of it. And to tell them that we were actually there, saw him race, all of it. I guess we will just have to wait and see. We will be sitting in front of the TV in 3 weeks, watching yet another race on pins and needles, and cheering.

KENTUCKY DERBY FANS!

WE ARE NOW OFFICIALLY DERBY FANS! WE ENJOYED EVERY ASPECT OF THE DAY...FROM THE EXCITEMENT TO JUST THE ATMOSPHERE. THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 150,000 PEOPLE, SO IT WAS EXTREMELY CROWDED, BUT IT WAS GREAT JUST THE SAME. KALYN DID AWESOME. SHE "BET" ON FOUR HORSES...3 FIRST PLACE FINISHES AND 1 SECOND PLACE. SHE WOULD NOT TELL US WHICH ONE SHE WANTED UNTIL SHE SAW ALL OF THEM, AND THEN SHE WOULD PICK HER FAVORITE. IF SOME OF THOSE BIG WHEELS COULD HAVE GOTTEN AHOLD OF HER...THEY WOULD HAVE KEPT HER FOR LUCK. AT THE END OF THE NIGHT, SHE CLIMBED UP IN BED WITH US, AND LAUGHING REAL HARD, SHE SQUEALED "SO WHEN ARE WE COMING BACK?!" NEEDLESS TO SAY, I THINK WE WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE. IT WAS A WONDERFUL ANNIVERSARY PRESENT!

Panoply

Here are some pictures of us at Panolpy Festival of Arts. Kalyn enjoyed lots of crafts projects that they had set up for children. The thing she wanted to do the most was watch the family of a mother and 6 baby ducks swim by in the lake. We promised her we would go back so she could feed them.
