13th Anniversary

Steven and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary on May 3rd. WHEW!!!! We made it!!! Steven planned a special evening for us all by himself. He did a great job. We spent the night in Chattanooga at The Read House (Sheraton). It was beautiful. He even splurged on valet parking. You should have seen him when the young man asked if he could help with our luggage. Steven was the ultimate redneck; he got out of the car carrying a cooler in one hand and a pair of boots in the other. I couldn't help but laugh. I'm sure the men had a big laugh once we were out of earshot. We had dinner at the Murder Mystery Theatre. I have often talked of wanting to go. We had alot of fun. The setting was at a 20 year high school reunion so we fit right in. We even sat with another couple who were celebrating their 13th anniversary also. We enjoyed every minute of the trip. I am so proud of Steven for thinking enough of me to plan an entire trip.

Snow in April

God saw fit to bless us with the beauty of snow one last time this season. We woke up to about 1/2 inch of snow this morning. These photos are taken from our porch about 7:00 am.

Easter egg hunt

Our egg hunt at church was Saturday. Gosh, there were so many eggs. The kids had a blast.

Alpha and Omega thing

Kalyn was sick all weekend long with a sore throat. A trip to the clinic reveals strep throat. I am so tired of sickness! I banish it from my family! Get thee behind me, Devil! Okay, enough of that ..... back to the story. Kalyn didn't go to her Sunday school class or children's church. She stayed with us. The choir did a song with a lyric that said " You are Alpha, Omega." Kalyn leaned over to me and said " I don't get this Alpha, Omega thing." I explained that Alpha meant beginning--- Omega means end. God is the beginning and the end, He will be here for both and He is everywhere in between. She nodded like she understood. In a few seconds, she pulled on my sleeve and said" Wouldn't it be easier to just call him "GOD"?

It rained almost the entire time we were in the Smokies. On our last day there, Kalyn really wanted to play wee-put golf so we told her she needed to pray for the rain to stop. It stopped just in time for us to play. I guess she forgot to ask God to keep it stopped because right when we got to hole #9, it started pouring rain. Steven and Kalyn at least had jackets. I was stuck out in the downpour---got completely soaked. My clothes were not even dry by the time we got home. But we still had a great time. Kalyn even won a free game by getting a hole-in-one on the last putt.
